If Nebulisation performance Is reduced!
If you have noticed a reduction in the performance of your Omron MicroAIR and
Medix MicroNeb
nebuliser and have cleaned as instructed under
How to clean and How to disinfect then check the power supply.
*Check batteries
*Use the AC direct current adapter [if you have one]
It may be your Mesh holes in the mesh cap have become clogged.
What to do about clogged holes In the mesh cap!
NE-U22 is designed to nebulise at least 2ml of saline for 8 minutes, If it takes
more than 8 minutes to
nebulise 2m1 of saline, it is possible that the holes In the mesh are clogged.
If saliva has stained the
mesh the nebulisation rate may decrease. If the stain cannot be removed by
either the daily maintenance process or boiling
it may be necessary to follow the procedure below to recover the performance of
the mesh.
•Boil the mesh cap for ten minuets in a mixture of water and white wine vinegar
at a strength of 3 parts water one part
vinegar, 3:1
After boiling remove from hot water and rinse In a bowl of cold water. Leave to
air dry on a lint free cloth or surface,
If the performance of, your MicroAIR or MicroNeb is not restored to your expectations use
the following cleaning procedure:
Sometimes reduced performance can be due to saliva coming into contact with the
mesh.
° Saliva contains protein and it is recommended to use a detergent which
contains "protein removing properties" such as
'false teeth detergent~.
•There are sever kinds of detergent available in your market It is recommended
to use a cleaning agent that has neutral or
weak alkaline chemical characteristic.
•Be sure to select a denture cleaner, which is a liquid solution and not a
salt-based suspension. (Ask your Pharmacist for
help),
How to clean the mesh with denture cleaner
1, To make denture cleaner detergent solution according to instructions of the
manufacturer.
2, Soak the mesh cap for 8-10 hours,
3. To remove the denture cleaner detergent left in the mesh, rinse the mesh cap
in water and then boil the cap for 20
minutes.
4 Wipe off water with new gauze and dry them thoroughly.
(Caution, Do not touch parts while they are hot from boiling-)
Dish washing machines can be used but this is not the preferred method for the
cleaning of the MicroAIR or MicoNeb. The MicroAIR and MicroNeb has
some small parts that may possibly be flung around inside a machine by the water
Jets that could damage the accessories.
A dishwasher can be used to wash the drug chamber, mesh cap, masks, mouth piece
and cover but not the main body of the unit.
It may be necessary to rinse the mesh cap after a dishwashing depending on any
salt residue that may
remain on the mesh from washing.

My nebuliser mesh on my MicroAIR or MicroNeb continues to under perform, then you may need
to replace the mesh. With average use
(1-4 times a day for two minutes) the mesh should last about a year. Please
order a replacement mesh for your MicroAIR or MicroNeb so
you can return to using you nebuliser to its optimum performance.
